UPDATE - Schuyler FFA Team wins State Runner-Up at Ag Demonstration Competition in Lincoln, Nebraska

(Lincoln, Nebraska) May 6, 2005 - The Schuyler FFA team of Lynne Cuda, Kate Wheeldon and Karen Mach won State Runner-Up at the Future Farmers of America Agricultural Demonstration Competition in Lincoln, Nebraska, March 31, 2005. The team advanced from a first place win at their local FFA competition in January.
In their presentation entitled "Stockosorb, the Power of Polymers," Kate, Lynne and Karen explained how polymers work and how they can be applied in agriculture. They demonstrated soil moisture levels and explained the benefits of using polymers in agriculture, including the reduction of irrigation frequency and chemical loss and increased yield.

(CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA) May 4, 2005 - Americal Soil Technologies Inc. exhibited along with Diedrichs & Associates ,
Inc. at the 20th annual Agricultural Machinery Conference in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The display, which
featured ASTI's M-216 Polymer Injection Machine and a polymer demo, captured the interest of representatives
from the ag machinery industry. The conference theme focused on "Expanding the Horizons of Product Development"
and was sponsored by the ASAE Iowa and Quad City Sections and SAE Mississippi Valley Section.

Spirits Run High at Polytechnic High School Tree Planting

(SUN VALLEY, CALIFORNIA) March 26, 2005 - On Saturday, March 26 twenty-five Mimosa and Jacoranda trees were planted at Polytechnic High School in Sun Valley, California. The planting was sponsored by the Sun Valley Rotary Club in celebration of Rotary International's 100th anniversary.
Community members from around the area participated, including members of Polytechnic's InterAct Club - a Rotary-sponsored service club, the Burbank Boy Scouts Troop and People-In-Progress.

FFA Students Win 1st Place With Stockosorb Demonstration

(SCHUYLER, NEBRASKA) January 18, 2005 - Future Farmers of America (FFA) members - Lynne Cuda, Kate Wheeldon and Karen March - won first place with their Stockosorb demonstration at the FFA District Agricultural Contest in Schuyler, Nebraska in January 2005.
The competition was an agricultural demonstration. Students chose topic of current interest in agriculture and were judged on presentation content, speaking ability and style. Lynne, Kate and Karen explained how polymers work and how they are used in agriculture today.

Farm & Ranch Guide: AG News: Polymer hydrates/dehydrates to provide water to plants

Anyone who has changed a baby in the last 20 years or so knows there's an interesting material in disposable diapers that draws liquid away from the baby and makes a gel type substance in the center of the diaper.
Scientists began wondering in the 1960s if they could use that gel substance to grab up water in the crop furrow in times of heavy rain, and release water to growing crops when it is dry.
In the past five years, products have become available that use the gel to assist in crop production.

American Soil Technologies exhibited at the World Ag Expo in Tulare, California, February 8-10th, 2005. Arguably the largest agricultural trade show in the world, the World Ag Expo attracted over 100,000 people over the three days and more than 1,500 exhibitors.
"The Ag Show is certainly a worthwhile event," says ASTI Sales Manager, Michelle Anderson. "It's a great opportunity to talk with growers from all over the country and discuss different cropping scenarios. Many of the California growers had water concerns, and were open to any new ideas to help extend their watering interval."

American Soil Technologies, Inc. exhibited at the Farm Progress Show in Alleman, Iowa,
August 31-September 2, 2004. The Farm Progress Show is the one of the largest farm exhibitions in the
United States with over 500,000 people attending this year.
"The respose to our products was fantastic," said Carl Ranno, President and CEO of ASTI. "By attending the Farm
Progress Show, we brought our cutting-edge polymer products to the attention of many eager and potential customers in the
Midwestern agricultural market."
